“I would often come here to spend time with my friends over drinks and some food. I love it in summer – there are great views of the weir out the front. I’d usually come on a Friday evening to finish off a week’s work.
There’s a great local community here and you always see familiar faces from the village, as well as plenty of tourists in the summer. It’s a mixed crowd, which gives it a great vibe. The GAA are very strong here and Moran’s would be a big support to the hurling club, who visit here after a match.
The week of the Galway Races is always great here, especially on the Friday. You meet everyone who is coming into Galway for the weekend from all over the country. It’s a brilliant time.
I’m looking forward to coming back here for fish and chips, having a drink, catching up with my friends. I’m looking forward to seeing the bar staff again too, who are always so welcoming.”

My very first pride. Such a nerve wrecking experience, but honestly one of the most exhilarating too. I know the difficulties one can have when coming to terms with their sexuality (heck, it took me 31 years and I’m still not 100% comfortable all of the time). However, if you’re feeling a little overwhelmed with your personal battle then please when you’re ready, talk it out with your nearest and dearest or a professional. It ain’t easy but it will be worth it. I’m happy to say I’ve amazing friends and family who’ve been UNBELIEVABLE and I know not everyone is as lucky. Since January 2019 when I first uttered the words “Mam, I’m different…” nothing changed but everything changed! ❤️ Be good to yourself and to others and do everything on YOUR terms and on your watch. 🌈
